Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper until well blended and smooth.
  3. Cut the French loaf in half lengthwise.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
  5. Mix together the Parmesan, mozzarella, and cheddar cheeses in a bowl and sprinkle generously over the buttered bread.
  6. Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Once out of the oven, let it cool for a minute, slice into pieces, and serve warm.

Notes

For cheese substitutions, consider using part-skim cheese or a dairy-free alternative. Fresh herbs like basil, oregano, or thyme can enhance the flavor. Avoid spreading overly melted butter to prevent soggy bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days; reheating is best done in the oven.
