  • 1 pie crust 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup 1 cup cooked ground beef (ensuring it’s Halal-certified)
  • 1 cup 1 cup cooked ground turkey (also Halal-certified)
  • 1 cup 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 4 large 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup 1 cup milk
  • to taste Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Method
 

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. If using a store-bought crust, lay it into a pie dish, pressing down gently. If making your own, roll it out and place it in a greased pie pan. Prick the bottom with a fork.
  3. In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef and turkey until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika until fully combined.
  5. Add the cooked meat mixture and shredded cheese to the egg mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly golden on top.
  8. Allow the quiche to cool for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

You can swap out the beef or turkey with other Halal-friendly proteins. Prep ahead by assembling a day earlier and refrigerating.
