Method
Preparation
- Wash the apples under cool water and pat them dry with a clean towel.
- Core the apples and slice them into wedges, leaving the skin on if desired.
Mixing Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the apple slices are evenly coated.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Cut the butter into small pieces and scatter them over the apple mixture.
- Place the apple mixture in the air fryer basket, spread out evenly, and air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Check for doneness; the apples should be tender with a slight crispness on the outside.
Serving
- Carefully remove the apples from the air fryer and serve hot. Top with whipped cream, nuts, or enjoy as they are.
Notes
For firmer apples, cook for the lower end of the suggested time. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave.
